Michael Dwyer is known for the creation of classically styled residences that include state of the art mechanical systems offering the comforts and amenities of modern life. He has built new houses in Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Rye and Nantucket, as well as many apartments in New York City.
Each project is designed through extensive collaboration with the client, a process that typically includes top-drawer interior decorators, landscape designers, builders and artisans. As the project coordinator, we guide each project forward in a spirit of teamwork, endeavoring to create the home that our client has imagined, with results that are better for our having been involved.
Michael Dwyer studied architecture at Columbia College and the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his residential work, he was the architect for the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument in Riverside Park, restored the George F. Baker Jr. House, a designated New York City landmark, and renovated the Cosmopolitan Club, a private club for women in New York. He was the editor of Great Houses of the Hudson River (2001) and the author of Carolands (2006).
